Monforte San Giorgio is a town and comune in the province of Messina in Sicily with more than 2,800 inhabitants. The town stands at 260 metres above sea level in the Niceto Valley on the first slopes of the Peloritani mountains. The town's economy is primarily based on agriculture and food production, particularly the cultivation of olives, citrus fruits and vegetables, as well as fishing. There are several religious buildings of note, including the Cathedral of San Giorgio Martire, the Church of Gesù e Maria, the ruins of the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, the Church of Sant'Agata and the Church of the Carmine.
